Book Boyfriend of the Week #16 ~ Graham Douglas from Where You Are by Tammara Webber

This is a meme created by Reading and Things for bloggers to talk about there book boyfriends and tease the readers with things they've said.

Want to participate?

Then all you have to do is:

1) Pick a book boyfriend, it can be from the book your currently reading or from one you've already read.
2) Write what kind of boyfriend he is, and if you want, say why you think that.
3) Pick a quote from his book, long or short, that proves he is the kind of boyfriend you said he is.
4) Make sure the quote, and the explanation DO NOT give away anything from the book (we want all of the twists and plot surprises to remain surprises).
5) Share it! And shout it out using the #Reading and Things.

This week I would like you to meet:

Graham Douglas

Graham is all kinds of sweet. He's not bad-ass. He's not super popular. But he doesn't need to be. He's gorgeous, sexy and extremely sensitive and caring when it comes to Emma.

"Look at me Emma."

Her eyes are full, the lids heavy. "Graham," she breathes.

"I need you to hear me." Cradling her head in my hands, thumbs sweeping her tears away, I stare into her eyes. "I belong to you. There is no one else. All I want is to be where you are."

Graham Douglas doesn't do romantic relationships, but he was knocked for a loop when he met Emma Pierce on the set of his last film. As they grew closer, he did everything in his power to keep from falling for a girl being pursued by superstar Reid Alexander. Now home in New York, his life is once again under control, until Emma appears and shows him how not over her he is.

Emma Pierce is forsaking an up-and-coming Hollywood career to embark on a life she’s only dreamed of—the life of a regular girl. After spending months burying her feelings for the two night-and-day guys who vied for her heart while filming her last movie, a twist of fate puts her in a coffee shop in the middle of Manhattan with the one she still misses.

Brooke Cameron was a fresh-faced Texas girl when she arrived in LA. Now she’s a beach sitcom star turned conceited heiress on the big screen. Having just survived three months on location with her ex—Hollywood’s reigning golden boy—she’s older and wiser and has set her sights on her close friend Graham. The only thing standing in her way is the girl he can’t forget.

Reid Alexander can sum up his life in one word: boring. Between film projects, there’s little going on outside of interviews, photo shoots, and the premiere of the film he finished last fall. The next-to-last thing he expects is to get a second chance with Emma, the girl who rejected him. The last thing he expects is for his still-bitter-ex to be the one to offer it to him on a platter.

This weeks question:

Are there any book to movie adaptations where you think the movie is better than the book?

I hope no one condemns me too much for this, but...

I actually enjoyed the Harry Potter movies a little more than I enjoyed the books.

My Swoon for this week comes from:

Where You Are
(Between the Lines #2)

by
Tammara Webber

First - The Blurb:

Second - My Swoon:

Pulling me closer, Graham lifts me on to my toes as his mouth crashes down on mine. The feel of his lips, insistent and giving no quarter, stuns me for a split-second, and then I'm matching his movements, opening my mouth, a restrained moan building in my throat as our tongues meet. My hands glide into his hair, the dark strands like ink spilling over my fingers as I urge him closer. "Emma," he breathes, wrapping one arm around my lower back, his fingers stroking over the skin at my waist as his opposite hand cradles my head, thrusting through the hair at my nap. His touch gentles then, kisses shifting to slow-motion, pulling me along like a subtle current, unhurried.

Third - My Thoughts:

Where Are You follows on from Between the Lines, only this time, it is written from not only Emma and Reid's POV, but also from Graham's and Brooke's. I will say that I had to check back a few times to see from whose POV I was reading from, but that didn't really bother me because the continuation of the story is quite captivating. In fact, I actually enjoyed Book 2 a little more than Book 1.

In Where Are You, Emma and Graham have finally managed to be open and honest with each other regarding their feelings, however, like with many romances, all is not smooth sailing. In the background, others are plotting to destroy their new found relationship. Will Brooke and Reid succeeded in their endeavor to break Emma and Graham apart? Once again, I don't want to give away spoilers so I guess you'll have to read it for yourself to find out.

My Rating: 5 out of 5

My Tease for this week comes from:

Between the Lines

(Between the Lines #1)

by
Tammara Webber

First - The Blurb:

Reid Alexander is used to getting what he wants – and what he wants next is his newest costar, Emma Pierce. The universe is lining up nicely to grant his wish, until he’s confronted with two unexpected obstacles on location: a bitter ex-girlfriend and a rival for Emma’s affections.

Emma Pierce just got her big break after years of filming commercials and made-for-TV movies. Winning the lead role in a wide-release film – opposite the very hot Reid Alexander – should be a dream come true. But Emma’s heart is hiding a secret fantasy: she wants to be a normal girl.

Second - The Tease:

"Yes," I breathe, and he freezes.
"Yes?"
"Yes."

And because I cannot leave it there, here's a tad more of this scene:

He trails his fingers over the side of my face, temple to neck, tracing a path, neck to waist. His right hand moves palm to palm with my left, intertwines our fingers as he lowers his head, and then his mouth is moving over mine, softly, carefully. I squeeze the hand holding mine and shift closer to him, clutching his shirt in my free hand, and he deepens the kiss, stretching out next to me, one knee hooked over my thigh. The hand at my waist progresses down over my hip, moving over my bare leg to the sensitive spot behind my knee. His hand is warm on my skin, drawing my leg over his until we're tangled together in the middle of the bed, his opposite shoulder under my head, his arm encircling me. His tongue traces my lips softly, parting them, thrusting inside. I moan, opening my mouth and pressing as close to him as I can get.

Okay, that was a bit more than a tad.

Third - My Thoughts.

After reading Easy sometime back I have been looking forward to reading another one of Tammara's books. Finally, my library got the first three of this series in, and guess what, I borrowed them all in one go. So, embarking on a Between the Lines marathon, what did I think of the first? It was great.

I instantly liked Emma. Despite being cast in the lead role of a major motion picture, she manages to maintain a level head and not let the fame and notoriety take control of her life. Reid, her costar, is a hottie, and doesn't he know it. Even though he has girls dropping at his feet, he sets his sights on Emma who, although not immune to his charm, is still cautious around him.

I don't want to give away any spoilers on this one, so I'll leave it there for now.  Just wanted to add though, this book is written from both Emma and Reid's POV making it a very interesting read as other characters are brought into the mix.
Oh, and did I enjoy it? Heck yes!!!!

My Rating - 4.5 out of 5

This week for me its:

Crush
(Crash #3)

by
Nicole Williams

Football glory. A giant diamond. A wandering eye.

Jude and Lucy are happily engaged . . . but that doesn't mean life's a bed of roses.

Once again, Jude and Lucy are torn apart by football training and a summer job that creates new tensions. This time Jude's the one with trust issues. Will Lucy's life-changing news bring them back together or end their relationship for good? Can love triumph forever?

After reading the first two books in this series I was hanging out to read the third to discover how it all turns out for Lucy and Jude. Finally this week, my library got this one in for me. Yay!!!!

SO NOW IT'S YOUR TURN!
On your blog (and be sure to leave a link) tell me what's waiting on your TBR pile.
