Stacking the Shelves #107 & Weekly Wrap-Up

Stacking The Shelves is hosted by Tynga’s ReviewsIt is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks.

Fifty Shades of Grey
(Fifty Shades #1)
by
E.L. James

Romantic, liberating and totally addictive, this is a novel that will obsess you, possess you, and stay with you forever.

When literature student Anastasia Steele interviews successful entrepreneur Christian Grey, she finds him very attractive and deeply intimidating. Convinced that their meeting went badly, she tries to put him out of her mind - until he turns up at the store where she works part-time, and invites her out.

Unworldly and innocent, Ana is shocked to find she wants this man. And, when he warns her to keep her distance, it only makes her want him more.

But Grey is tormented by inner demons, and consumed by the need to control. As they embark on a passionate love affair, Ana discovers more about her own desires, as well as the dark secrets Grey keeps hidden way from public view..

I saw this book at a second hand bookstore for $2 and thought, yeah, it's high time I got caught up on this series. So... now it's on my shelf waiting to be read.

My Swoon for this week comes from:

Someday Girl
(Someday #1)
by
Melanie Shawn

First - The Blurb:

Someday…

For Cat Nichols, someday was finally here. Going away to college meant a fresh and new start for the girl who lived locked away in a prison of insecurities. She was ready to experience new things and meet new people. But she wasn’t ready for him…

Jace Butler had experienced things that no person should have to. Trying to come to terms with his past and live in the present was a constant struggle for the man whose demons lie dormant beneath the skin of his rippling body and sexy smile. But when she walked into his life, the chance for a better life came with her…

After finding each other, Cat and Jace also find that both past and present issues are trying to ruin their chance for a better future. Issues that will have to be dealt with for once and for all…together or apart.

Second - The Swoon(s):

Swoon 1
My heart slammed into my chest as I melted into his consuming embrace. The hard planes of his body against mine, even with the barriers of our clothing, felt better than anything I'd ever experienced in my life. His unique scent of soap and wood drifted up through my nose and I buried my face against the smooth skin of his neck and inhaled deeper, not even thinking about the right thing to do or not. I just wanted to experience every sense to the fullest. Touch. Smell. Sight.
...Cat

Cat has lived an extremely sheltered life. She has little social experience, and when it comes to the opposite sex, she has next to none.

Swoon 2
When I touched my lips to hers, my heart stopped. My world stopped spinning. Time stood still. It was the most breathtaking kiss I had ever experienced, her sweet lips melting beneath mine. Her body felt warm and soft pressed against me. I forgot that we were standing on the street. Hell, I forgot that we were standing on Earth. My entire existence shrank down to one single, solitary sensation - the feeling of her soft, full lips on mine.
...Jace

Jace has had a hard life moving from one foster home to another and then spending several years in the army. He believes he is unworthy of Cat's love, but as time passes and his attraction towards her grows, he slowly starts to see things differently.

I'm still reading this book so I'm not sure where the story will go from here. Guess I'll find out soon.

Waiting on Wednesday # 43 ~ Queen of Shadows (Throne of Glass #4) by Sarah J. Maas

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jill of Breaking the Spine which spotlights highly anticipated upcoming releases.

This week I’m waiting on:

Queen of Shadows
(Throne of Glass #4)
by
Sarah J. Maas

Expected publication: September 1st 2015 by Bloomsbury

Everyone Celaena Sardothien loves has been taken from her. But she's at last returned to the empire—for vengeance, to rescue her once-glorious kingdom, and to confront the shadows of her past . . .

She will fight for her cousin, a warrior prepared to die just to see her again. She will fight for her friend, a young man trapped in an unspeakable prison. And she will fight for her people, enslaved to a brutal king and awaiting their lost queen's triumphant return.

Celaena’s epic journey has captured the hearts and imaginations of millions across the globe. This fourth volume will hold readers rapt as Celaena’s story builds to a passionate, agonizing crescendo that might just shatter her world.

I just completed the first three books in this series along with The Assassin's Blade. I can't wait to see how the story continues.

Teaser Tuesday # 150 ~ Heir of Fire (Throne of Glass #3) by Sarah J. Maas

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading.

Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) "teaser" sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (Make sure that what you share doesn't give too much away! You don't want to ruin the book for others!)
  • Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

Heir of Fire
(Throne of Glass #3)
by
Sarah J. Maas

First - The Blurb:

Consumed by guilt and rage, Celaena can't bring herself to spill blood for the King of Adarlan. She must fight back...

The Immortal Queen will help her destroy the king - for a price. But as Celaena battles with her darkest memories and her heart breaks for a love that could never last, can she fulfil the bargain and head the almighty court of Terrasen? And who will stand with her?

Second - The Tease:

If she'd had any energy, she might have objected. But he carried her up the two flights of stairs, down the hall, and then...
A roaring fire, warm sheets, and a soft mattress. And a heavy quilt that was tucked in with surprising gentleness. The fire dimmed on a phantom wind, and then the mattress shifted.
In the flickering dark, he said roughly, "You're staying with me from now on."

As I approached the end of Heir of Fire, I was filled with all kinds of mixed emotions. There are so many interesting characters and so many unexpected things which happen. Although the story does end on a series of cliffhangers, the pause is well placed and left me with a feeling, that all though things seem dire for some, in the end, good will prevail. Mind you, I could be wrong. Only time will tell. Bring on the Queen of Shadows.

My Rating: 5 out of 5

TBR Tuesday # 105 ~ The Infinite Love Series (Infinite Love #1-4) by Kira Adams

My good friend Sharrice from Reese's Reviews: My Addiction to Fiction came up with the idea of 'TBR Tuesday'

If you want to join in the fun, then just do the following:
From your book shelf or your e-reader, pick a book that you own that is still on your TBR list. Post it however you want to, then leave a link below so others can see what's waiting to be read.

This week for me its:

The Infinite Love Series
(Infinite Love #1-4)
by
Kira Adams

The Infinite Love series is a realistic fiction series that begins as a young adult series, but gradually grows into a new adult series by the last book. It comes with hard hitting subjects such as suicide, depression, disorders, abuse, addiction, fears, love, and more. This box set includes all four books in the series; Learning to Live, My Forever, Beautifully Broken, & Against All Odds.

Let Ciera and Topher tell you their beautifully heartbreaking story in Learning to Live.

Dive into Madalynne and Parker's lives and experience the highs and lows of their long-term relationship in My Forever.

Let the spiciness of Lee and Jacqueline transport you in Beautifully Broken.

Feel the intensity of Austyn & Avery's love in Against All Odds.

Their stories aren't going to be pretty--but they are going to be REAL.

The Infinite Love series by Kira Adams - Honest, heartbreaking, and oh so real.

I picked this series up a while back as a boxed set. Just need to find the time now to read it.

SO NOW IT'S YOUR TURN!
Leave a comment and tell me what's waiting on your TBR pile.

Stacking the Shelves #106 & Weekly Wrap-Up

Stacking The Shelves is hosted by Tynga’s ReviewsIt is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. That Boy
(That Boy #1)
by
Jillian Dodd

That Boy is a contemporary romance about falling in love with the boys next door.

You know, being friends with two cute boys does have its benefits.

There's Danny. Danny is a golden boy in every way. He has dreamy blue eyes and blonde hair that always looks perfect, even when it’s windblown or been stuck under a football helmet. He’s the boy every girl crushes on. The boy I get into trouble with, the boy I fight with, the hot quarterback no girl can resist, not even me. Being with Danny is like being on an adventure. He has a bright, contagious smile and abs to die for. He’s pretty much irresistible.

Equally crush worthy is Phillip. Adorable, sweet Phillip, who I have known since birth.  Phillip has dark hair, a perfect smile, brown eyes, and the sexiest voice I have ever heard. He’s the boy I talk to every night before I go to sleep. The boy who rescues me, the boy who can read my mind, the boy who is always there for me, the boy who tries to keep me out of trouble, the boy who irritatingly keeps getting hotter, and whose strong arms always seem to find their way around me.  And when he gives me that grin, I can never say no.

One boy will give me my very first kiss.
One boy will teach me to make out.
One boy will take me to prom.
And finally, one boy will ask me to marry him.
They will both be my best friends.
But only one of them will be the boy I fall in love with.
Only one of them is That Boy.

And...

Whiskey Kisses
(3:AM Kisses #4)
by
Addison Moore

Izzy Sawyer has always been the it girl. She believes she’s the last person on earth who deserves a happily ever after. Holt Edwards has always been the player that women voluntarily fall to their knees for. When it comes to love, Holt doesn’t believe in fairytale endings.

When Izzy dives back into the dating pool, Holt is right there, ready and willing, to offer tips and tricks to get her through an entire army of blind dates—starting with a bone melting demonstration on how to deliver mouthwatering kisses.

One thing leads to whiskey and Izzy is starting to think happily ever after doesn’t seem like such a bad idea. Holt is starting to rethink his stance on fairytale endings.

But Izzy has a secret that has turned her world upside down. Holt has a secret of his own that cost him far more than he ever bargained for.

Sometimes life doesn’t give you the happily ever after. Sometimes it’s best to leave fairytale endings on the bookshelf where they belong.

Izzy can’t stop thinking about Holt.
Holt can’t seem to quit his favorite new addiction—Izzy.

The mercury is rising—secrets are percolating—and their lust for one another is just about to detonate.

Izzy needs just one more hit of Holt and his late night Whiskey kisses, but deep down she knows that will never be enough. She wants all of him—every bone melting kiss he ever has to offer.

Izzy wants Holt
Holt worships Izzy.

Summer in Hollow Brook just heated up.
Sparks are flying.
Together Izzy and Holt are unstoppably electric.

I have the first three in this series so when I saw this one advertised for free on Amazon, I just had to snap it up.
